![]() Local subtitles work fine, but strangely (but perhaps coincidentally) I've noticed lots of files say they have "local subtitles available" when in fact they do not. They all display "error searching for subtitles", so matter which one I choose. Just recently I cannot use the subtitle fetching addons. I've been using KODI for some time, and currently use the latest version with a Sony Android TV. This has also been reported here: #20081 but as this issue has been Triaged etc we should follow up here only.Hi all. If there are no English subtitles then the subtitle settings dialog will show the toggle is off (even if the global default setting is set to on). if I set the setting to User interface language (or English in my case) and there is an English subtitle stream then the video player will enable the English subtitles and the subtitle settings dialog will show the toggle is on. So when a video is played and subtitles are enabled then Kodi checks to see if the video has a subtitle stream which matches that setting. Kodi has a setting Settings -> Player -> Language -> Preferred subtitle language. If you play videos with no subtitles you should see the toggle always reflect your set default global setting.īut when you open up the video player subtitle settings dialog, the toggle is not necessarily showing you the status of the default global setting, it's showing you if subtitles are on or off for the current playing video. ![]() When playing a video, if you set the Enable subtitles toggle on or off and then click Set as default for all media then I think the default global setting is saved correctly. And the debuglog excerpt posted here with the "not found" messages is not relevant to the issue so can be ignored.Ĭheck what you have set in: Settings -> Player -> Language -> Preferred subtitle language I took a look at this issue and I don't think it's necessarily a bug. Team Kodi will consider your problem report however, we will not make any promises the problem will be solved. Note: Once the issue is made we require you to update it with new information or Kodi versions should that be required.
